A sustainable fashion design show of the 2022 Wuhan Textile University-Manchester Metropolitan University School of Fashion Union Teaching Project was held in the Performance Hall of Nanhu Campus of WTU, on 7 June, 2022. With the theme of "New Silk Road", The exhibition also serves as the opening show of the fashion works release series of the graduation season of School of Fashion of Wuhan Textile University in 2022 with the theme of "Fashion +". The dean, professor Tao Hui and faculty attended the fashion show .

This project takes the ancient Silk Road connecting Eastern and Western civilizations and the archives of Macclesfield Silk Museum and China National Silk Museum as the starting point of inspiration, which combined the proposition of sustainable design, and expresses our beautiful expectation for sustainable fashion.

As the project leader , dean professor Tao guided the development of the project . The WTU-MMU union teaching program is the third time this year. The school of Fashion has been adhering to international cooperative teaching and exchange programs for many years, and has cooperated with many internationally renowned fashion colleges and universities such as Iowa State University in the US, Griffith University in Australia, and University of Edinburgh in the UK to take out union teaching programs. Over the years, it has been the school characteristic of the Institute of Fashion Technology to cultivate high-quality professional talents with international vision of cross-cultural communication ability and innovation ability. The exhibition is not only a platform for educational and teaching achievements, but also a window for foreign cultural exchanges.

In the future, we hope that more international fashion design colleges will join us to explore the design project of cross-cultural and broad feild of vision.
